The small town of Punat in the south-western part of Krk Island is the home of the Marina Punat. Built in 1964, it is the oldest marina in Croatia and has been an important nautical centre in the Adriatic ever since. Punat is also a town with a long shipbuilding tradition. It is also the first marina that has been awarded a Blue Flag. The marina is a mere 10-minute walk away from the town centre. Located in a sheltered bay, marina Punat is a safe refuge from all winds. Although, swells from the west are possible. The marina is open all year round.
Marina Punat has 11 piers with 800 wet berths for boats up to 45 m in length and 400 dry berths for boats up to 10 m. The marina can also accommodate 100 vessels (max 15 m long) on land. All berths have water and electricity (16 A to 125 A).
The marina is well connected to the mainland via bridge and to the neighbouring islands of Cres and Rab via ferry. The international airport is on the island, just 30 km from the marina. The nearest gas station is in the town of Krk. The nearest general hospital is in Rijeka. All towns on Krk Island are connected by bus.
The small town of Punat has many facilities one sailor might need; there is an ambulance, dentist, post office, police, shops, small farmer’s market, fish market, nautical equipment shop and many restaurants.
Daily berths are provided on the north pier marked B6. For boats arrived by land quick and safe lowering or hoisting is facilitated via special crane – a hydro-lift for boats up to 5 t.
