D-Marin Dalmacija is located in the town of Sukošan, approximately 7 km south from Zadar and 10 km north of Biograd na Moru. Situated on the north side of the large bay of Sukošan, the marina provides a safe shelter from all winds, although strong south and south-west winds may cause some waves and rough sea. The marina is just 2 km from the town centre. It is the biggest marina in Croatia and one of the best-equipped marinas in the Adriatic. D-marin Dalmacija is open all year round. The busiest months are July and August.
Marina Dalmacija has a total capacity of 1200 wet berths and 300 dry berths, all of which are equipped with water and electricity. The marina can accommodate boats and yachts up to 40 m and even super yachts in transit up to 80 m. Larger yachts (20 – 40 m in length) moor at the artificial peninsula right at the marina entrance, while super yachts in transit moor alongside a special transit pier. Jetties 1 – 15 are reserved for charter yachts.
The depth at the entrance to the marina is between 5 to 8 meters, however in the central part of the bay ranges change from 3 to 8m.
There is a post office, ambulance, pharmacy, shops, bakeries, restaurants, hotels, private accommodation and farmer’s market selling fresh fish and local produce in Sukošan. The nearest general hospital is in Zadar. The closest airport is Zadar Airport in Zemunik Donji, 8 km from Sukošan.
The marina offers many technical services such as engine, electrical and electronic repairs, wood and fibreglass hull repairs, osmosis treatment, upholstery, paint and canvas work. The marina has four restaurants and cafes and six sanitary facilities evenly distributed around the entire complex, but still, it gets crowded, especially on days charter yachts arrive or depart. Also, expect longer waiting times at the fuel station, and be sure to check the fuel gauge twice as the fuel is more expensive than average.
Sukošan overlooks the island of Ugljan and Pašman, from which it is separated by the narrow Zadar Strait. Be careful when sailing the Zadar Strait as sea currents and jugo can be strong there.
