Olive Island Marina is located in the small village of Sutomišćica, on the NE coast of Ugljan Island, 1.5 miles NW from Preko ( the small town on Ugljan) and 3 miles west of the city of Zadar. The island of Ugljan is separated from the mainland by the narrow Zadar Strait. Be careful when sailing the Zadar Strait as sea currents and jugo can be strong there. Situated in a deep and peaceful Sutomišćica Bay, the marina provides a good shelter in most wind conditions, although strong NE winds may cause swell and affect some berths. The marina was awarded the best little marina in Croatia in 2014. Olive Island Marina is open all year round. The busiest months are July and August.
Olive Island Marina has 225 wet berths and 25 dry berths, all of which are provided with water and electricity. It can accommodate boats and yachts up to 24 m on one of the four pontoons within the marina and more than 50 m in length on the breakwater. Sea depth in the marina ranges from 2 to 7 m.
There are few facilities in Sutomišćica, a restaurant, a shop and private accommodation. If you need an ambulance, dentist, pharmacy, post office or bank, head over to Preko. There are also more restaurants and shops in Preko. The nearest fuel station is in Preko, and the nearest general hospital and airport are in Zadar.
The marina is well connected to the mainland via taxi boat, which takes approximately 10 minutes to the centre of Zadar, but is rather expensive (around 150 kunas per person). You can also catch a ferry from the town of Preko nearby (3 km), which sails several times a day. Other towns and villages on the island are connected by local buses.
The marina is pet-friendly and allows visitors to bring their pets along.
