about

Ideal location for superyachts

Amsterdam has the ideal location, also in terms of regulations and repair facilities.

The city centre is listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List. It has the best berths for super yachts, including the iconic Maritime Museum and the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam.

Amsterdam is a lively city with top museums, luxury shops, culinary restaurants and famous festivals. A truly unique destination to explore.

Amsterdam is an obvious stop-off for superyachts heading to the increasingly fashionable cruising destinations in Scandinavia, the Baltic, the Fjords and the Artic region. This new pathway is now known as the Northern European Route.

Services and facilities

Are you visiting the port of Amsterdam with a seagoing ship? On this page you will find all the services and facilities that are available to you.

Pilotage

Is your ship subject to compulsory pilotage? In that case you must order the pilot for an ingoing voyage at least six hours in advance. The pilot for an outgoing voyage must be ordered at least four hours in advance.

Please consult the Regulations concerning Shore-Based Pilotage (in Dutch). Read more about the services of the Dutch Pilots Organisation on the Nederlands Loodswezen website(link is external).

Tugs

Do you require a tug? The tug order time for an ingoing, berth shift or outgoing voyage is two hours.

Boatmen

Do you require boatman services for arrival or departure? Please note that boatmen must be ordered 90 minutes in advance.

Read more about boatman services on the websites of De Koperen Ploeg(link is external) and Coöperatieve vereniging van Vletterlieden (in Dutch)(link is external).

Every seagoing ship may deliver ship-generated waste and cargo residues at a port reception facility. The Amsterdam seaports offer facilities for every type of waste.

Medical services

The Amsterdam sea ports offer facilities for first aid, medical examinations and mental health for national and international maritime traffic.

Waste disposal

Every seagoing ship may deliver ship-generated waste and cargo residues at a port reception facility. The Amsterdam seaports offer facilities for every type of waste.

Eco card

Oil and grease containing ship's waste can be delivered to the SAB reception facilities, provided that the waste originates from normal operations. To be able to deliver ship's waste, you must be able to show the oil discharge booklet and the international eco card.

Don't have an eco card yet? You can simply apply for one via the SAB website.

Shore power connection

Port of Amsterdam has provided shore power connections at various berths for inland navigation and passenger vessels. This is good for the environment and the use of ship-to-shore power also prevents noise pollution.

Obtain ship-to-shore power in 3 steps

    1. Register at en.parklineaqua.nl(link is external).
    2. Log in using your mobile phone with a unique code or as part of your subscription.
    3. Connect your own power cable to the switch box. You will receive power as soon as you register.

The supply stops as soon as you unsubscribe.
